It was a good break. A period of isolation. It started with me unable to access the Evernote. That prompted me to look for note-taking alternatives to replace it.
After some testing and evaluating I zeroed in to Google Keep and Microsoft OneNote as my next two top choices. Each has its own strengths.
Google Keep is good as a middleweight note-taking tool especially for recording things to do and short notes you want to review often. It links with Google Calendar and can be read from the smartphone. A practical on-the-fly tool for quick access.
Then I have OneNote for the heavyweight stuff. This is for the things that I write at length like my ideas and thoughts on more serious matters. Between Google Keep and Microsoft OneNote, the feeling is like using a pocket notebook and a full-fledged organizer.
